KCC culinary students participated in the American Culinary Federation's Western Regional Competition held Feb. 6 and 7 in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

The ACF competion has four regions: western, central, southeast and northeast. From these regions, there are subdivisions.

Welcome new dean

Beginning this week, a new face will be at KCC to take the position of dean of arts and sciences.

Charles Sasaki, who recently turned 40 last Thanksgiving, will be the new permanent dean of arts and sciences.

According to Louise Pagotto, interim vice chancellor for academic affairs, his appointment went before the Board of Regents on Thursday, Feb.

Explicit sexual texts are illegal

Sexting can consist of explicit words, photos, or video being sent to another person, even if that person is your boyfriend or girlfriend.

A former KCC culinary student has recently been published in a book called "Knives at Dawn: America's Quest for Culinary Glory at the Legendary Bocuse d'Or Competition," which depicts the perspective of the U.S. team competing in a French culinary competition that was held in Lyon, France.

The "R & R - Recycling & Redefining the Everyday" exhibit features the work of two local female artists, Loreen Matsushima and Carol Sakihara.
