Does this dating dilemma sound familiar? You want to invite someone to have dinner and watch a movie at your place. Your heart feels like it is pounding out of your chest as you call and ask the person to dinner and a movie at your place. Just when you think you've got everything taken care of, oh no! You realize you didn't pick a movie. How do you pick the perfect movie on such short notice?
Here's is a list of my Top 10 date DVDs to make the night enjoyable and fun!
10. "As Good as It Gets"
An Oscar Award-winning movie with an all-star cast. Jack Nicholson, Helen Hunt and Greg Kinnear are strangers whose lives will intertwine. This is a great movie about life and acceptance.
9. "Yes Man"
When you talk about comedy, you can't leave out Jim Carrey. This is a wildly funny movie that will have you and your date laughing at this crazy, yet understandable plot.
8. "The Count of Monte Cristo"
A thrilling movie based loosely on the classic novel written by Alexandre Dumas, père. Jim Caviezel and Guy Pearce are brilliant in this movie, which is full of adventure and romance, cleverly combined into an exciting movie.
7. "The Princess Bride"
A classic '80s movie starring Cary Elwes and Robin Wright Penn that has successfully managed to cleverly recreate a classic fairy tale story into a brilliant movie.
6. "The Illusionist"
This is just a great movie that you may want to watch over and over again. Edward Norton and Jessica Biel are terrific in this movie of mystery, magic and a little romance.
5. "The Wedding Singer."
How can you not love this funny movie set in the '80s? This is a great movie that is ridiculously funny and will have you and your date loving the era, music and clothes.
4. "Quantum of Solace"
I personally think that this is one of the best James Bond movies made because Daniel Craig (James Bond) brings something different and intriguing as the sixth actor to portray the character in a very different light.
3. "There's Something about Mary"
Cameron Diaz and Ben Stiller are crazy and cute together. There is a nice balance that is felt between Diaz's infectious laugh and Stiller's uniquely funny and sensitive side.
2. "50 First Dates"
I had to put this movie on the list because this is a movie that you can watch over and over again. It is a hilarious movie that is surprisingly quite endearing and best of all it takes place in Hawai'i.
1. "A Knight's Tale"
This movie is my number one date DVD because it has everything! Heath Ledger does a fantastic job of adding a modern twist to the medieval world of jousting, while trying to impress the girl of his dreams.
Next weeks Top 10 will be the top 10 toys to kill time.
